40th Anniversary Congress of UKISCRS

The historical session took the audience through anterior segment ophthalmology and the birth of UKISCRS to the technological advancements of today. The session was heart-warming, scientific, packed with medicine and some unforgettable anecdotes. UKISCRS Exists to promote:
- education and research in the field of cataract and refractive surgery and to advance and promote the study and practice of ophthalmology and research and the dissemination of the useful results thereof.
- experimental work in the field of cataract surgery, intraocular lens implementation and refractive surgery and the disseminiation of results thereof.
- further investigation and training in cataract and refractice surgery
Rayner Medal LectureDr. Warren Hill, MD Arizona; presented and received the Rayner Medal Lecture from Rayner's Richard Thompson. Dr. Hill spoke on Improving Intraocular Lens Power Calculations and the lecture was extremely well received. In response to the feedback received, Dr Hill said 'It is truly humbling to see such an early acceptance by the ophthalmic community of a completely new idea. My thanks once again to everyone for the honor of speaking at the UKISCRS meeting'. Thanks go to Rayner Intraocluar Lenses for supporting this bi-annual award.
